Clarke Communication Services is a privately owned speech therapy practice located in Central Maryland
Nikki Clarke has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist for more than 25 years. She is a Maryland Licensed, ASHA certified Speech Pathologist and has formal training in Orofacial Myology.
Nikki prides herself in working very closely with families to achieve optimal results as quickly as possible. Caregivers and parents will learn techniques and strategies that they can integrate into their daily lives and implement immediately. Nikki's main goal is to provide the highest quality services that meet the needs of the entire family and help client's achieve maximum success.
Feeding
THERAPY
Nikki offers myofascial release and craniosacral therapy to release tension patterns in the body and mouth, oral motor exercises, and sensory based approaches to treat feeding disorders, oral aversions, overactive gag reflexes and picky eating in infants & toddlers, and children of all ages
Speech
THERAPY
Nikki is trained in PROMPT, TalkTools Oral Placement Therapy, and Kaufman-Apraxia programs. She specializes in treating motor planning impairments (apraxia) and oral motor impairments that often underly articulation difficulties.

THERAPY

The primary goals of OMT are to normalize resting postures of the lips, jaw and tongue, eliminate tongue thrust, and remediate speech sound dysfunction. However, OMT is also effective in preventing and correcting orthodontic relapse, enhancing proper craniofacial development, promoting healthy breathing, and improving overall feeding skills (to name a few).

Nikki is skilled at treating expressive and receptive language disorders across all ages. She implements alternative communication supports to support deficits in verbal communication. Nikki is neurodiversity affirming and prioritizes the sensory needs of all clients

Tonge & Lip Ties
Many tongue tie releases fail to achieve desired results because of a lack of attention to not only the tongue, but the tension patterns present in the entire body. The craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, and whole body stretching protocols Nikki provides & teaches pre- and post- tongue & lip tie releases help clients achieve best results.
Airway
THERAPY
Myofunctional therapy, craniosacral therapy, and myofascial release techniques are helpful in the treatment of airway dysfunction, however, structural problems with the airway and/or palate often require treatment from ENT's, Airway Centric Dentists and/or Orthodontists. Nikki provides referrals to providers as needed.
Bianca Coulson, M.S., CCC-SLP

Bianca has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 14 years. She feels that every treatment plan should be individualized to meet the needs of each person and their family dynamics, obtaining a thorough understanding of her clients' lifestyles and beliefs to create objectives that are salient and functional. Bianca's main goal is to set achievable goals for maximum outcomes while obtaining a strong rapport with every client.
Lactation Services
Bianca is a Certified Lactation Consultant with extensive education with training in Neonatal therapy with a focus on developmental support for preterm infants and feeding strategies for medically complex neonates. She desires to assist in identifying barriers to successful breastfeeding and supporting the parent/infant dyad with feeding challenges.

Adult Services
Bianca also has extensive experience in adult swallowing disorders and adult cognitive-communication therapy working specifically with those suffering from acute or progressive neurological impairment such as stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's, and dementia. She is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) to improve pediatric and adult speech and voice impairment, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) and is trained to utilize Expiratory Muscle Strength Training (EMST) for treatment of acute and chronic swallowing impairment. Bianca is a specialist in the management of terminal illness as it pertains to nutrition and swallowing disorders with a focus on counseling and advanced care planning.

Bianca treats all childhood based speech, language and feeding disorders. She implements a variety of techniques into her therapy, works closely with parents to ensure successful carry over of therapeutic targets.
